Hi family! About a month ago today, I arrived back home to California! So crazy! God has done so much in this past year! He is SO GOOD and SO FAITHFUL! This year has been transformative, and I’ve learned so much about who I am, who God is, and what I want my life to be about! Here are just a few of my big takeaways from this year!
Who I Am Because of Who God Is! As I’ve learned more of who God is this year, I’ve learned so much about who I am because of that. God is a good Father, with good plans for his children. He loves us unconditionally and He cares for us. This year, I’ve grown in resting secure in who I am. I used to place a lot of my worth in what others thought of me. I wanted to be seen as perfect by others, thinking that validation from others would bring me joy and give me the best life. But, this year, God has shown me that He is over it all! He loves me no matter what, He sees me, He knows me, and He is working all things out for my good! This has been so comforting to me, and has allowed me to live in so much more freedom and security in who I am!
Giving up Control and Fear of the Future! Along with more security in my identity, God has grown my trust in Him and moved in my desire to be in control of my life. As I’ve learned more of His character, I’ve learned that I can trust God with my future. I don’t have to do it all myself, and I can loosen my grip on the reins of my life. He is going before and making a way for me! I don’t have to worry, and I can rest in knowing that God’s got it all figured out, way better than I could ever plan myself!
Abiding and Living Life with Jesus! For years, I’ve had the head knowledge that God is always accessible and that the Holy Spirit is always with me But this year, that head knowledge has truly transferred to heart knowledge. God is so present with us AT ALL TIMES! He wants to be with us in the everyday, mundane parts of life. He loves us, and wants to hear from us! My prayer life has grown so much, and my love and gratitude for who God is has been transformed. It is so incredible that God is present and with us always!
These are just a few of my big takeaways from this past year, and the things I’ve noticed are imprinted on my heart, even in the crazy changes of being at home! I am so incredibly grateful to be able to have done the World Race, and all the ways I saw God move in my life and the lives of people all around the world!
